Metal Building Contractor in Albuquerque
Mountain State Construction erects pre-engineered steel buildings in Albuquerque and across the metro, from Rio Rancho and Bernalillo to Los Lunas and the East Mountains. Our Albuquerque work includes a 100x200 single-slope commercial warehouse, and every building we put up here is engineered for the site's wind, soils and seismic conditions.
Built in Albuquerque.
Our largest Albuquerque build is a 100x200 single-slope commercial warehouse with a 16 ft eave, erected alongside a 20x50 companion building. A single-slope roof sheds water to one side and suits warehouse, flex and shop layouts that need clean, open floor space. It is one of several New Mexico steel buildings we have erected, along with commercial buildings in Bloomfield and Capitan and a barndominium in Santa Fe.

Albuquerque conditions.
The metro climbs from the Rio Grande valley up the West Mesa and into the Sandia foothills, and the ground, wind and code change along the way. We engineer every frame to the conditions at your exact site, not a citywide figure.
Wind
Spring brings the windiest stretch of the year, and sites on the east side can catch strong gap winds out of Tijeras Canyon. We set wind speed and exposure per site.
Soils
Sandy and collapsible soils on the mesas and caliche in places make the foundation worth a careful look. A geotechnical report drives the design.
Seismic
Albuquerque sits in the Rio Grande rift, which raises seismic demand compared with much of the region. We confirm the design category for your site.
Snow & Elevation
Snow is light in the valley and heavier toward the foothills and East Mountains. Roof snow load is sized to your elevation.
Heat & Sun
High-desert sun and hot summers shape roof, wall and insulation choices so the building stays usable year round.
Code & Permitting
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and the surrounding counties each govern their own sites. We deliver engineered, stamped drawings built to the authority that covers yours.
Steel buildings across the metro.
In and around Albuquerque we erect commercial steel buildings, warehouses and flex space, steel shops and garages, agricultural and equipment buildings in the South Valley and East Mountains, riding arenas and horse barns in places like Corrales and Placitas, aircraft hangars, self storage and barndominiums. Already bought a building from a manufacturer? We erect it start to finish.

Do you build in Albuquerque?
Yes. We erected a 100x200 commercial warehouse in Albuquerque, and we take on projects across the metro, including Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Corrales, Placitas, Los Lunas, Belen and the East Mountains.
Can you erect a building I already bought?
Yes. We have worked with virtually every major pre-engineered metal building manufacturer. We can unload and inventory the building at delivery, verify anchor bolts and erect it start to finish.
Do Albuquerque soils affect the foundation?
They can. Collapsible and sandy soils on the mesas and caliche in places all change the foundation design, so a geotechnical report sets it before any concrete is poured.
How do you handle the wind?
Wind speed and exposure are set for your exact site. East-side sites near Tijeras Canyon and open lots on the West Mesa can need more than a sheltered valley site.
Will you provide drawings for the permit?
Yes. We deliver engineered, stamped drawings built to the authority that governs your site, whether that is the City of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho or the county.
Do you build elsewhere in New Mexico?
Yes. We build across New Mexico, with completed projects in Santa Fe, Bloomfield and Capitan, and we work in Arizona and Colorado as well.
